As you’ve read from my article “PAUSE is POWER” dated 05th Jan 2024, on how our world is filled with noise and distractions which alienate us from our inner, higher selves. We are continually connected to life’s buzzing developments, and technology, bombarded by so much noise competing for our time and attention that we fail to listen to ourselves, our thoughts, feelings, and intuition.

We have grown uncomfortable with doing nothing and having silence to the point where, if things get quiet, we feel guilty and look for things to keep us busy. As you read through this blog, I would like you to ask yourself how comfortable are you with being silent and doing nothing?

Research has shown that as people we are afraid of being still because the silence or pauses in life puts us in touch with what we regard as unwanted feelings—boredom, restlessness, loneliness, sadness, disappointment, frustration, shame etc. What we fail to understand is that avoiding silence and pauses doesn’t make our lives easier or make this discomfort go away. Instead, we bury this reality which will in the long run catch up with us in a disguised form. We then address symptoms instead of dealing with the root causes.

Today I would like to bring you to this fact, there is personal power in being still! No action but just being present in the NOW. When things are still, you are not being distracted by actions and your energy has nowhere to go. When you focus on stillness, the inner peace that comes from knowing you are living in the moment, shutting out distractions and thriving in the silence to connect with your soul will enable you to step into the NOW.

When you are STILL or in a moment of PAUSE, you stop worrying about what has happened in the past, or what will happen in the future, and come back into the present or the now. What the power of stillness and mindfulness in your life does is that it elevates your mind to be able to cast aside those doubts, make your mind a quiet and confident place, and solve your problems with the fullest mental clarity you can muster.

Life often subjects us to being tired, stressed, and being either pushed or pulled but when we are allowed to just be, and not subjected to pushes, pulls, and distractions, we end up having to create our own from within.
Stillness is not just essential for inner peace, it is essential for our existence. Because, stillness is the opposite of action — every action must be followed by stillness, just like stillness must be followed by action.

In closing, I would like to encourage you to always strive to achieve stillness in your being, both from the outside and inside, so that you can be better empowered to step into your greatness! So as you continue on the path of knowing and understanding your PERSONAL POWER, the big question should be “What can I do to bring quiet and stillness in my life daily?”
